with Professor and Choreographer Lyn
Cramer

An Endowed Professor in the
Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre
at the University of Oklahoma, Lyn
Cramer has been a teacher, director, and
choreographer for over 30 years. OU
productions include A Chorus Line,
Sweet Charity, Cabaret, Company, Baby,
Pal Joey, and My One and Only.
Cramer has directed and
choreographed a dozen shows for Lyric
including Hairspray, 42nd
St., Swing, Smokey Joe’s Café, Cabaret
and Singing in the Rain. She
has directed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
and will direct The Drowsy Chaperone
for The Broadway Rose in Portland,
Oregon. Cramer’s professional acting
career began in 1982, and she is a
member of Actors Equity Association and
Society of Stage Directors and
Choreographers. In 2005 Lyn received
The Irene and Julian J. Rothbaum
Presidential Professor of Excellence in
the Arts award from the Weitzenhoffer
Family College of Fine Arts. Chicago
National Association of Dance Teachers
bestowed their Artistic Achievement
Award to her in 2004. She is also the
director for the annual Christmas
extravaganza: A Very Merry Pops with
the Oklahoma City Philharmonic
Orchestra. Featured on Cathy Roe’s
instructional tap and jazz videos,
Cramer is master teacher throughout the
United States, publishing curriculums in
jazz and tap pedagogy. She has served as
an adjudicator and master teacher in
musical theatre dance at the Hong Kong
Academy for the Performing Arts.
